The bira-bira kanzashi, recognisable by its dangling charms that shimmer with the slightest movement, is one of the most distinctive ornaments worn by maiko in Kyoto. This version takes on that idea with three momiji leaves (Japanese maple in autumn) in a gradient of red and orange, swaying gently from a fine gold-tone chain. The gold-tone metal stem slides easily into a bun for a touch of Japanese charm on any occasion.
